I'll do my best to answer, but because of some life-altering and time consuming health issues, I may not reply. Hopefully everything you need is below!
About
Hi, I'm Damian, and I'm an artist and designer. I've done pen & ink, acrylic, oil painting, digital art, and am currently learning how to design buildings. I've loved this stuff since I was a kid.
I'm also diagnosed with CRPS, Ehlers Danlos, and bipolar. For the latter, I admitted myself to the mental hospital in 2012 and was on psych meds for 6-7 years. Luckily, I found enough mental stability to sleep well and keep my mind right using home remedies like meditation, diet, exercise, etc.
I mention bipolar, not because it significantly hampers my work, but because it has helped me to see other people mention their mental health stuff while also showing what they can do creatively.
The physical issues are currently a different story and impact my life much more than I'd like. I hope to work through them, but in the meantime, the nerve damage and joint issues currently make it tough to work a full time gig, and sometimes I gotta forgo certain projects or leave people's emails unread (hopefully most of your questions are answered below).
Other than all that, I'm excited to see where this work takes me.

FAQ
Prints
Can I cancel an order?
Sorry, no cancellations. Prints are made to order, and I’m charged immediately by the print company. So, if you think you might cancel your order, please sleep on it and come back tomorrow!
Can I return a print?
Sorry, no returns. Everything is printed on demand, and we don't resell old prints, so if you're on the fence about buying something, take you're time and come back later if you'd like!
What if a print arrives damaged?
If your print arrives damaged, take a picture of the full print from the front and a close up picture of the damage. Email these two pictures + your order number to hello@studiodemzel.com. We'll get it taken care of.
In most instances, we will send you out a new one and you don't have to send back the old one. You can give it away or get rid of it.
Do you offer other sizes?
At the moment, no, but I'm open to suggestions/feedback about what ya'll might want in the future.
What are the prints made of?
In fancy terms:
The prints are produced using giclée printing, which result in a wider color gamut, smoother tonal transitions, and significantly longer lifespan.
The nine archival pigment inks on 100% cotton hot press paper allow for more accurately represented images and resist fading for generations, even in normal display conditions.
The print is a modern matte black metal, giving it a good weight (approx. 1.5lbs) and is ready to hang with wire hanging on the back.
Dimensions? Weight?
Each 11"x14" print is actually closer to 11.25"x14.25" and weighs approximately 1.5lbs.
How do you price your prints?
For the 11"x14" framed prints, I charge about 3x my $90 cost.
That $90 gets museum-quality printing, archival materials, and professional framing. The other $170 goes toward keeping my business going in a way where I can make a living being part time (cause of the health stuff).
It's been helpful to see other artists explain their pricing (as it does sometimes feel a bit mysterious and hard to find good info on this), so I wanted to share in hopes that its useful and also gives some transparency to my clients.
Where do you ship & how long does it take?
Right now we ship to all 50 US states. No international shipping at the moment.
I can't guarantee a shipping date, but from order date to your door is about two weeks.
How do I hang the print?
The prints are about 1.5lbs each, so I like to use Command Strips. Here's a link to ones that are rated for 5lbs:
If you go with the strips, please follow the directions they provide so that nobody crushes a toe or dents the floor. This info/answer is for informational purposes only.
Custom work
Do you do custom art and design work?
For custom artwork - click here.
Custom design work is under construction.
How much does a custom artwork cost?
I generally try to price my custom work at $150/hr, but it depends on what goes into the work. Increased material costs or increased execution difficulty might increase that cost.
Sometimes, I price a piece on what I think is the perceived value of the process and final work, rather than an hourly rate.
I keep this more open ended so that I am open to different mediums, styles, and ways of working. We can talk more specifics if you decide to do an initial consult with me. More info about that - click here.
How long does a custom project take?
We’ll talk about that more when discussing the scope of the project, but I'd say most custom work takes at least a month to do the art plus shipping, but depending on what you're looking for, I can imagine some pieces taking shorter. It all depends on what you’re looking for, what my schedule looks like at the moment, and where I’m at with my health issues.
