So, an image of a peacock popped into my mind, which symbolized beauty and regality, two things I don't think she thought of herself.

It's originally an 8.5"x11" pen dipped into India ink piece, which took 38 hours of me hunched over and hoping that I didn't screw up or that the pen didn't spill its ink into a puddle.

The original piece was bought by a man from India who bought it for his wife. I think this was also the first time I paid rent with an art sale. Although he was happy with the art, he returned it with a note in broken English - "Wife gone. Made wife happy. Make me sad now. Make someone else happy." There was no return address.

So the original is back, hoping to make someone else happy, and I'm super proud of how the print turned out. I checked out a few different print companies, a few different sizes and frame styles, and I'm stoked to say that unless they're side by side, it's tough to say which is the print and which is the original.

If you have any questions, check out the FAQ.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0985/3806/2192/files/019a8b60-e196-7000-87bf-c72855a85c7d.jpg?v=1775622612
le-tigre-framed-print
Le Tigre Violet (11"x14" framed print)

giclée printing

archival pigment inks

museum quality

smooth matte, acid-free, and pH-neutral 100% cotton paper

modern matte black frame

Le Tigre Violet was created when I was on antipsychotics and felt deadened on the surface, yet full of life on the inside.

I couldn't sleep and was diagnosed bipolar, so Seroquel was the only thing that seemed to get me a good nights sleep. Otherwise, I'd have night terrors and lose my bearings mentally. Luckily, I'd never fully lost control of my mind, and Seroquel was partially to help for that, but that doesn't mean it felt good.

So, I took all those feelings and put them into a tiger.

It's originally an 8.5"x11" pen dipped into India ink piece, which took 40 hours, hunched over and hoping that I didn't screw up or that the pen didn't spill out all it's ink and ruin it.

The original was bought by a guy in San Francisco at one of my first art shows.

Also, after about 6-7 years, I worked my way off Seroquel. No shade to anybody who uses anti-psychotics to stay level. They were doin more harm than good for me. Luckily, I had a few awesome psychiatrists, and we worked off slowly over the course of two years. Testing my patience fo sho!

Anyway, that's Le Tigre Violet.
